Homeland Security opening private mail

Pay particular attention to the highlighted portion of Amendemnt IV of the United States Constitution: Amendment IV - Search and seizure. Ratified 12/15/1791.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Now read the MSNBC story about the 81 year old retired University of Kansas History professor's mail from a longtime friend living in the Phillipines who just happens to be of the Catholic faith at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/10740935/.

I suppose I shouldn't be at all suprised with the DHS employing former members of the East German Stasi and the Soviet era KBG, see refernces at http://www.dissidentvoice.org/Jan05/Whitney0121.htm , http://www.libertypost.org/cgi-bin/readart.cgi?ArtNum=81704 ,that such individuals would be working overtime to create for the American public a utopian police state devoid of our most cherished rights. My question, however, is where are those pesky elected officials of ours that swore an oath to defend the constitution against all enemies foriegn and domestic? Not only are they turning a blind eye to the enemies of the constitution in the present administration but apparently aren't happy with such simple treason and have decided to import foriegn enemies to help oversee the destruction of the American Republic. The founding fathers cry out from their graves while the present generation of, dare I say statesman, fiddle, play rounds of golf, and scramble to launder their illegal contributions from lobbyist as the Bill of Rights is gutted.
