Bush Declares War on Journalist Not Conforming to Administrations Propaganda
National Security letters are going out to those that host the sites of journalist critical or not conforming to the Bush administrations ongoing propaganda campaign. One such letter recently went out to the host of Doug Thompson's Capitol Hill Blue site requesting traffic data, payment information, and information about the publisher. The trouble is that Mr. Thompson is also the owner of the service that host the website so in effect the government is asking him to turn over said information and not tell himself about it. The article also discusses Attorney General Gonzales quest to convene grand juries to bring journalist in front of to find out whom it is within government that is leaking information on the current administrations illegal use of wiretaps.

Read the full story on the Bush Administrations war on the last remaining vestiges of open and honest journalism at Capitol Hill Blue .

This all reminds me of a statement made by the President during a speech on August 5, 2004:

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful -- and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people -- and niether do we."

I realize that at the time this statement was made that it was said that this was just yet another Bush verbal gaffe. Although, in light of everything that this corrupt administration has done and continues to do in the apparent attempt to destroy our constitutional form of government is it any great stretch of the imagination for one to believe that perhaps this statement is just an instance of the truth slipping out?

It is said that Ben Franklin once questioned on what the Constitution had given us replied, "a Republic if you can keep it." Today we find ourselves at the apex of the decision betweeen a Constitutional Republic governed by laws and reason and tyranny governed by petty men that seek only to increase their personal fortunes using the fear and herd mentality of their fellow country men. Will Americans once again rise to the occasion as they have so many times in the past and see that the ship of state is set back on a proper course? Or will the apathy of the American public make the following statement by George W. Bush a self-fullfilling prophecy:

"If this were a dictatorship it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just as long as I'm the dictator." -- George W. Bush December 18, 2000
